Ungagged 2016: Negative SEO & CTR effects on ranking

Session Description:

Guy took on a really massive subject in the SEO world and took it upon himself to get a conclusive answer if CTR does influence organic rankings.

Short Summary:

If a page is ranking in position six but gets a higher than expected CTR, Google may decide to move its ranking up because of the sudden burst of traffic that said site is generating. What does this mean for potential SEO strategies? This means that further experimentation was needed to find out exactly to what extent CTR effectively affects search engine result pages. The team at Over The Top Seo, under the direct supervision of Guy Sheetrit, carried out an ambitious experiment in which they tried to settle this issue for good. Apart from effectively isolating CTR as an independent variable, we also used truly organic traffic to see if we could influence a group of websites located at various levels in page results ranking.
